Usually forums consist of some kind of valuable information shared by many users over Internet .Forums are meant for open sharing of information to each other but sometimes some forums doesn't go with this Forum quality of open information sharing. They won’t allow us to view its thread without registration for this they make it password protected. This is not sure that you will found your desired information after that compulsory registration .This post will show you how to bypass the forum registration process and still read the forum thread.
Go to Google and type the search string and search it against the forum that requires registration . Example - your keyword site:theforumwebsite.com
You should then be looking at the results page with links to various forum threads from that forum. All you have to do is click on cache link below the search result instead of clicking on search result link itself. This will show you the cached version of the forum thread without the need for registration in the forum.
Actually most of the forums allow Google and other search engines to crawl through them freely but don’t allow people to browse without a registration. Meaning, only members can access the thread. When viewing cached version, you see the page that search engines crawlers captured without registration in the forum.
So now you are not required to go through that compulsory registration.Enjoy searching articles on forums without registration.

During the initial days of
orkut every one can access the photo album of any user but a feature in December 07 was added which was supposed to let the user restrict view access to their orkut photo album.
Later this feature was then extended to the video and scrapbook options also. Though
Orkut uses Microsoft's safe & secure technology but even tough it is not very hard to break this security feature. Our intention is not to spread weakness of orkut but as the movie antitrust says "
Human knowledge belongs to the world."A simple javascript when typed on your FireFox browser displays all your photos in your album in a thumbnail sequence. Here is the trick.
This trick works only if you are using Mozilla Firefox and Greasemonkey extension/addon installed on your system, and may not work on Internet explorer.
1. Go to users profile whose album is locked and you want to unlock
2. Copy and paste the below mentioned javascript code on the address bar and hit enter
3. Wait for few second before the photos are displayed. Now this is done.
Definitely orkut guys will fix this security breach one day.So better give it a try before that happens and inform me when it stops working.
UPDATE:: This method is not working presently.

If you are reinstalling a software then the whole process is usually painless but what if you found that neither you remember the serial /key nor you have it. This happens quite often and you’re faced with two options, buy another license or hope that you find/remember where it is.But i think you won't like any of them.

A good way of making sure that doesn’t happen to you, is to make a list of all the serials of your important software right now & make a back up like email them to yourself etc..But in case you have forgotten the key but software is still installed on your system then
SoftKey Revealer [
Download] is a free Windows application that will show you the serials and CD keys of software installed on your computer.
Though this is quite effective but not all Microsoft software are supported which means you won’t get the serials for every application you have installed.
Still, the program does what it says and gives you an option of saving your revealed serials to Microsoft Word. If you’re looking for a way to see CD keys of your installed games, the makers of SoftKey Revealer have a similar app for games called
game key revealer that’s displayed on the product page.

Do you ever faced "Word cannot open the document", "The document name or path is not valid " or "Word cannot open the document: user does not have access privileges" like problems while dealing with Microsoft word documents. If you have to access data from a corrupt or damaged word documents then you can do that very easily by repairing those documents by using a freeware
Repair My Word.

Repair My Word [

The recovered text can then be saved as an error free Microsoft Word document. Repair My Word will allow you to obtain access to the contents of corrupt word documents. It will repair Microsoft Word 6.0, Word 95, 97, 2000, XP, and 2003 for Windows. It does not support word 2007 documents.
For repairing any corrupt word files , all you need is to open the corrupt or damaged file and review the recoverable text in the preview window and then save this text to a new error free Word file.Thats it.
Now you have recovered your data from damaged or corrupt Microsoft word file.

After the much awaited launch of Firefox 3.0 it was quite frustrating to see that many popular Firefox extensions were not working on Firefox 3.0.Even Google toolbar was not working on Firefox's latest version.Though these extension are undergoing some modifications very rapidly so that Firefox 3.0 users can use them.
But you don't have to wait for the modification of your Firefox 2.x extension, you can yourself modify these extensions very easily and then you can use them on Firefox 3.0.
Here are the steps you need to follow for this modification:
1. Download the .xpi file of the extension (You have to use any web browser other than firefox for this)
2. Rename the downloaded file .zip from the .xpi
3. Now open the new zip file using WinZip / WinRar or any other file compression software.
4. Inside the zip - Open the install.rdf in edit mode
5. Locate and Replace 2.0.0.* by 3.* in Mozilla Firefox section.
6. Save the .rdf file and rename zip archive back to .xpi
7. Now Install the extension.(Double click the .xpi file and open in Firefox)
Now you have modified your desired Firefox 2.x extension for Firefox 3.0.

This script allows php code to be run every time a certain jpg is loaded. The script below would log the IP that loaded image, the date, referrer, and useragent, but it could be edited to do loads of things. Strictly for educational purpose.
Just create a directory, put this php code into a file which is saved as a .jpg file. You need a real image, in my case called sig.jpg in the same directory, and a file called (in my case) siginfo22.txt - this must be chmod’d to 777. Obviously, file names etc can be different, but must also be changed in code below. Oh, and create a .htaccess, as shown at top of that code.
Here is the
script:
create a .htaccess file containing the following two lines:
Options All -Indexes
ForceType application/x-httpd-php
the first one means if someone tries to view directory, they are not
shown it, the second allows the script to work
*/
header(”Content-type: image/jpeg”);
$ip = getenv(”REMOTE_ADDR”);
$date = date(”d”) . ” ” . date(”F”) .
” ” . date(”Y”);
$ref = getenv(’HTTP_REFERER’);
$ua = $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'];
$intofile = $ip . ” || ” . $date . ” || ” . $ref
. ” || ” . $ua . “

$hfile = fopen(”siginfo22.txt”, “a”);
fwrite($hfile, $intofile);
fclose($hfile);

So many times either because of some unknown reasons or due to some known activity if your windows xp enabled system is not able to boot then it is quite frustrating and during my early days of computing i usually preferred number 10 option to recover but now if i face booting problem i try to fix this problem by using these possible solution.
#
1: Use Last Known Good Configuration

You can also try to boot the operating system with the Last Known Good Configuration feature. This feature will allow you to undo any changes that caused problems in the CurrentControlSet registry key, which defines hardware and driver settings. The Last Known Good Configuration feature replaces the contents of the CurrentControlSet registry key with a backup copy that was last used to successfully start up the operating system.
To use the Last Known Good Configuration feature, first restart the computer by pressing [Ctrl][Alt][Delete]. When you see the message Please select the operating system to start or hear the single beep, press [F8] to display the Windows Advanced Options menu. Select the Last Known Good Configuration item from the menu and press [Enter].
#
2: Use a Windows startup diskOne of the first things you should reach for when troubleshooting a Windows XP boot problem is a Windows startup disk. This floppy disk can come in handy.
To create a Windows startup disk, insert a floppy disk into the drive of a similarly configured, working Windows XP system, launch My Computer, right-click the floppy disk icon, and select the Format command from the context menu. When you see the Format dialog box, leave all the default settings as they are and click the Start button. Once the format operation is complete, close the Format dialog box to return to My Computer, double-click the drive C icon to access the root directory, and copy the following three files to the floppy disk:
After you create the Windows startup disk, insert it into the floppy drive on the afflicted system and press [Ctrl][Alt][Delete] to reboot the computer. When you boot from the Windows startup disk, the computer will bypass the active partition and boot files on the hard disk and attempt to start Windows XP normally.
#3: Use System Restore
Another tool that might be helpful when Windows XP won't boot is System Restore. System Restore runs in the background as a service and continually monitors system-critical components for changes. When it detects an impending change, System Restore immediately makes backup copies, called restore points, of these critical components before the change occurs. In addition, System Restore is configured by default to create restore points every 24 hours.
To use System Restore, first restart the computer by pressing [Ctrl][Alt][Delete]. When you see the message Please select the operating system to start or hear the single beep, press [F8] to display the Windows Advanced Options menu. Now, select the Safe Mode item from the menu and press [Enter].
Once Windows XP boots into Safe mode, click the Start button, access the All Programs | Accessories | System Tools menu, and select System Restore. Because you're running in Safe mode, the only option on the opening screen of the System Restore wizard is Restore My Computer To An Earlier Time, and it's selected by default, so just click Next. Then, follow along with the wizard to select a restore point and begin the restoration procedure.
#4: Use Recovery Console

When a Windows XP boot problem is severe, you'll need to use a more drastic approach. The Windows XP CD is bootable and will provide you with access to a tool called Recovery Console.
To boot from the Windows XP CD, insert it into the CD-ROM drive on the problem system and press [Ctrl][Alt][Delete] to reboot the computer. Once the system begins booting from the CD, simply follow the prompts that will allow the loading of the basic files needed to run Setup. When you see the Welcome To Setup screen, press R to start the Recovery Console.
You'll then see a Recovery Console menu. It displays the folder containing the operating system's files and prompts you to choose the operating system you want to log on to. Just press the menu number on the keyboard, and you'll be prompted to enter the Administrator's password. You'll then find yourself at the main Recovery Console prompt.
#5: Restore from a backup
If you can't seem to repair a Windows XP system that won't boot and you have a recent backup, you can restore the system from the backup media. The method you use to restore the system will depend on what backup utility you used, so you'll need to follow the utility's instructions on how to perform a restore operation.
#6: Fix a corrupt partition boot sector
The partition boot sector is a small section of the hard disk partition that contains information about the operating system's file system (NTFS or FAT32), as well as a very small machine language program that is crucial in assisting the operating system as it loads.
If you suspect that Windows XP won't boot because the partition boot sector has been corrupted, you can use a special Recovery Console tool called Fixboot to fix it. Start by booting the system with the Windows XP CD and accessing the Recovery Console as described in #4.
To use the Fixboot tool, from the Recovery Console command prompt, type
Fixboot [drive]:
Where [drive] is the letter of the drive to which you want to write a new partition boot sector.
#7: Fix a corrupt master boot record
The master boot record occupies the first sector on the hard disk and is responsible for initiating the Windows boot procedure. The master boot record contains the partition table for the disk as well as a small program called the master boot code, which is responsible for locating the active, or bootable, partition, in the partition table. Once this occurs, the partition boot sector takes over and begins loading Windows. If the master boot record is corrupt, the partition boot sector can't do its job and Windows won't boot.
If you suspect Windows XP won't boot because the master boot record has been corrupted, you can use the Recovery Console tool Fixmbr to fix it. First, boot the system with the Windows XP CD and access the Recovery Console as described in #4.
To use the Fixmbr tool, from the Recovery Console command prompt, type
Fixmbr [device_name]
Where [device_name] is the device pathname of the drive to which you want to write a new master boot record. For example, the device pathname format for a standard bootable drive C configuration would look like this:
\Device\HardDisk0
#8: Disable automatic restart
When Windows XP encounters a fatal error, the default setting for handling such an error is to automatically reboot the system. If the error occurs while Windows XP is booting, the operating system will become stuck in a reboot cycle--rebooting over and over instead of starting up normally. In that case, you'll need to disable the option for automatically restarting on system failure.
When Windows XP begins to boot up and you see the message Please select the operating system to start or hear the single beep, press [F8] to display the Windows Advanced Options Menu. Then, select the Disable The Automatic Restart On System Failure item and press [Enter]. Now, Windows XP will hang up when it encounters the error and with any luck, it will display a stop message you can use to diagnose the problem.
#9: Fix a corrupt Boot.in
As the Windows XP operating system begins to load, the Ntldr program refers to the Boot.ini file to determine where the operating system files reside and which options to enable as the operating system continues to load. So if there's a problem rooted in the Boot.ini file, it can render Windows XP incapable of booting correctly.
If you suspect that Windows XP won't boot because Boot.ini has been corrupted, you can use the special Recovery Console version of the Bootcfg tool to fix it. Of course, you must first boot the system with the Windows XP CD and access the Recovery Console as described in #4.
To use the Bootcfg tool, from the Recovery Console command prompt, type
Bootcfg /parameter
Where /parameter is one of these required parameters
- /Add--Scans the disk for all Windows installations and allows you to add any new ones to the Boot.ini file.
- /Scan--Scans the disk for all Windows installations.
- /List--Lists each entry in the Boot.ini file.
- /Default--Sets the default operating system as the main boot entry.
- /Rebuild--Completely re-creates the Boot.ini file. The user must confirm each step.
- /Redirect--Allows the boot operation to be redirected to a specific port when using the Headless Administration feature. The Redirect parameter takes two parameters of its own, [Port Baudrate ] | [UseBiosSettings].
- /Disableredirect--Disables the redirection.
#10:Install a fresh windows xp
sorry but if you have tried all the above mentioned methods then according to me this is last and only hope left you make your windows xp bootable.

Firefox, opera provide the facility of recovering the recently closed tab in their browser windows but internet explorer has no such kind of function. However, there is a free
add-on of just 225KB for Internet Explorer called
IE7 Open Last Closed Tab that does just performs this. This gives the functionality of opening last or recently closed tab like opera or Mozilla Firefox.

After installing it, you can open closed tabs by pressing the Alt and X keys together. It also supports a Quick Tab Style View, appears when you hit Alt-Q, which gives you thumbnails of the previous tabs you’ve closed. It is similar to the built-in IE Quick Tabs, but it is for previously closed tabs. You can then click on the thumbnail of the page you want to open in a new tab.
This is nice tool for the internet explorer lovers or better to say users. Here we have a funny graphical
comparison of top web browsers including opera, firefox ,internet explorer.

I have faced this situation many many times. When i have to use my pen drive, which is already containing some important data that i can't afford to loose, on a shared computer system that is probably infected with
viruses, i always found myself in a dilemma. If i use my
USB drive on that
virus infected computer system then that virus will be automatically transmitted to my
pen drive also and then it might make my pen drive unreadable or data on pen drive might be lost etc. depending upon the virus activity.
But now i have found a solution for this situation. If i make my USB drive non writable then any kind of data can't be written to it,means if virus infected computer is going to transmit any virus to pen drive then it can't be written to it as USB drive is write protected.

ThumbScrew is a freeware that can be used to write-protect your USB drive so that malware or any kind of unwanted program or data from host computer doesn’t spread to your USB Drive. For using it
download and launch the app, right click the System Tray icon and choose ‘Make USB Read Only’. Now nothing could be written to the USB Drive, you’re completely protected from infections spreading to your disk from your computer.
Now your pen drive is protected on that shared system but i still recommend you to use a quality
anitvirus software updated regularly as your system contains more important data than a pen drive.

noisy sounds, reading errors etc. then it definitely effects the overall performance of our computer system. It is recommended to check your hard drive partitions for any kind of reading errors time to time. For this Windows provide us a option for checking our hard drive partitions for any kind of reading errors and its performance has been satisfactory.

But if you want a dedicated advance tool for checking your hard drive for errors then
Ariolic Disk Scanner,a freeware with a nice visual interface is quite nice tool for you.Ariolic Disk Scanner is a portable application that can be run from any location without installation.

This tool has very nice visual interface, you have to select a particular windows hard drive partition and then start scan. After this it will represent every readable sector by a green square and unreadable sectors or parts with reading errors are represented by a red square .Almost every type of drive can be scanned including hard disks, floppy disks, CD or DVDs and flash drives.
This tool is nice for finding reading errors but the problem is that it can not correct them unlike windows check disk tool.

Normally computer users are not interested in keeping the record of
USB devices attached to their computer systems but if are a administrator of computer systems shared among family members, cyber cafe users ,employees, students etc. then it might be usefull for you to keep record of all the USB devices attached to your system.Since windows xp,vista or any operating system does not provide any such facility for keeping record of any USB devices attached to your computer system so there is no setting tweak for this. You have to use a freeware
USBDeview for keeping record of USB devices.

USBDeview allows you to easily see which USB devices have been attached to your PC along with keeping a history of all the devices that have been attached in the past. This can be pretty useful if you want to keep track of any devices you may add to your PC over time. For each USB device, extended information is displayed: Device name/description, device type, serial number (for mass storage devices), the date/time that device was added, VendorID, ProductID, and more.
USBDeview doesn't require any installation process or additional DLL files. Just copy the executable file (USBDeview.exe) to any folder you like, and run it.

When this much hyped 3G iPhone was launched few days ago blogosphere just got mad about this apple product.Almost everybody wrote about it.Almost every blogger was telling its readers that why they should use apple iPhone even though most of them haven't seen that new version.Well on the paper iPhone is great product,it is cheap, looks nice, easy to use and so many things but it also have few reasons which when user comes to know after buying the iPhone, frustrates the user.

I am not writing this because apple fired me or something like that (i am still a student) but because a user should know the demerits of the product before actually buying it.So here is what we get from users review.
1.No MMS: Still there is no support for Multimedia Messaging Service through which users can easily send/receive photos and other media files. The only way to send and receive media files in iPhone is through e-mails which is not as simple as MMS.
2.Poor Camera: The 2 megapixel camera introduced in the first version of iPhone is left unchanged. Most of the other smart phones have at least 3 megapixels.
3.No Video Call Support – The much hoped front-facing camera for video calls is not available in the new release.
4.Missing Cut, Copy & Paste – Every smart phone’s must to have features are basic cut, copy & paste. Apple failed to add these features to the new phone.
5.Adobe Flash – The Safari web browser used in the iPhone does not have Adobe Flash support. So none of the flash enabled web sites can be viewed on iPhone
6.Other- The other disappointments include no Video Recording Support, lack of landscape oriented keyboard, week Bluetooth support.
This phone still has some features that appeals a lot but what i mean to say is that don't go blind for any product just because every second person on net is writing or talking about it. Just compare and analyse it and then make a choice.

Some time earlier we talked about the
conversion of PDf files in to Word,HTML documents. If you have to extract some data from
PDF files then you can also do this by first converting them into Word or HTML files after that is very easy, simple copy paste. But if you are interested in extracting text from PDF files directly, without converting them in to another format. Then
PDFtextonline a online free utility that extracts text from PDF files directly.
I tried it,it worked fine for me.But when i tried this for for password protected PDF documents then it displays this message.

So they do have a application that works for encrypted/password protected PDF documents.

Though we have email facilities that allow an awesome amount of size to store but still we don't prefer them for storing or uploading files every time.Though we can use
Gmail email space as storage drive but still some times we need direct link for downloading the file, some times file size is greater than the maximum upload limit of a single email. etc. are the reasons that force us to choose separate file hosting services, its better if they are free. Here is the review of top 5 free file hosting websites.
1.
File dropper:

Filedropper is very nice site for hosting file. They provide direct link for downloading the file. File uploading is very easy and fast. All you need to do to upload a file is click Upload and select a file. They provide a space of 5GB as compared to Few hundred MBs of other sites of this kind. Filedropper top this list.
2.
Fileqube:

Fileqube is also a free file hosting site. They have a very nice interface. It is also extremely fast. When you upload a file, a link is provided to download the file, a link to remove the file, and HTML code to add to a website, etc. Unfortunately, Fileqube only allows for uploads of up to only 150MB, yet most certainly one of the best.
3.Google pages:
Google pages, where you automatically get an account when you sign up for Gmail. They provide you up to 100MB of uploading size. They even allow you to publish them on a web page that you can easily design by the help of tools present inside your account. You can create any number of the Gmail ids and with each id you get 100MB free file hosting space.
4.
MyFreeFileHosting:

Myfreefilehosting also has a nice interface. It includes the option to send an notification email to someone to tell them of the upload, tags to categorize the file, etc. Of course, after one uploads the file, links are given to allow for download and distribution. The maximum file size allowed is 100MB.
5. Easyshare:
This is different from the above four.Unlike other free file hosts though, Easyshare pays users for their uploads. If your upload gets downloaded 10,000 times, you’ll apparently receive $20. If you have a personalized toolbar on your website, you can receive money from their uploads through that toolbar and if you refer another person to Easyshare you’ll receive 10% of their earnings.
Another neat thing about this site is the upload options. You can upload on the site from your computer, upload using an FTP server, upload using their free software, or use a remote upload from another server. The maximum file size for a free account is 100MB.
There are many players in this market sector, they keep emerging and keep on providing new features. If you know some better sites for file hosting then share them with us in comments.

Generally when we have a query then first of all we Google it.Afterwards Google results and our selection of keywords that are used in search, determine what is going to be the fate of our query. This is not always when you get exact answer of our query by just searching it over
multiple search engines.A novice on Internet might not find exact answer of his question, if he doesn't know
how to perform use full search on Internet.
For this kind of problem Internet has knowledge base systems. Here these question answer services allows user to ask questions which are either answered by their own experts or by other users. Most of the time user gets personalized answers of his queries. Here is the list & review of those question and answer services.

1.
Yahoo answers:Well i thought that most of you had tried it before if not even then you must be aware of this Yahoo service.Yahoo Answers is a place where you can ask and answer questions. And unlike many other similar services and forums, things happen extremely fast here. Most of the questions receive multiple replies within a one day of posting. It is like free consulting service.
Question posting process is quite simple, you only need is to select right category and specify how long it will stay open. Once this period is over best answer is chosen. Each posted question goes through 3 stages; open(still needs an answer), undecided(multiple answers are given and users are asked to vote for the best one) and resolved(best answer has been chosen).
2.
Answer bag:

yet another cool, well-trafficked Q&A community. Additionally to standard feature set provides an option to quickly rate (+/-) questions in order to make interesting ones standout. Higher rated questions, receive more attention and tend to get multiple replies in extremely short period of time, sometimes within the first 5-10 minutes after it has been posted.
3.QnA live:
QnA live is based on the user-activity it seems to be less popular than the above two, although as it originates from Live.com, the network still ensures decent amount of daily users. Doesn’t provide that many features but incorporates couple of most needed ones, i.e., RSS support for each question to easily follow-up on replies via feedreader AND an option to tag questions and browse them by tags (by category or popularity).
4.
wiki answers:

Wiki Answers, previously known as FAQ Farm, was acquired by Answers Corporation in November 2006 and integrated as the user generated content (UGC) component of Answers. com , an answer engine containing content on over 4 million diverse topics.
Wiki Answers is based on a customized version of MediaWiki called "Wiki FAQs" and is run as an online question and answer (Q&A) community. The site content is created by its users, where visitors share what they know and ask about what they don't. This in turn creates wiki Q&As.
5.Askville:
Askville is a user-driven research site founded by Amazon.com and opened to the public on December 8, 2006.Unlike the defunct Google Answers service, Askville is designed to run much like a computer game. Users gain or lose "experience points" in particular topics as they answer questions in those topics, depending on how good their answer is. Users also receive "quest gold" by asking and answering questions, and by voting on the worth of other people's answers. The user can then use these coins as rewards, either to obtain more coins or to exert voting influence on the answers.
6.Quamut:

Quamut is a collection of how-to guides launched in March 2008 by the bookstore chain Barnes & Noble. The core line of guides are all editorially written but there is also a section of user- contributed wiki guides. Quamut is the Latin for how-to and is pronounced kwĂ³mut.

There are many software and tricks which claims that they can reduce boot time of your operating system and you install them or apply them but if the difference created by them is very less then you can't judge them just become you don't have any method to judge their output.
Now don't worry we have come across
Boot Timer which is a small freeware utility which can help you to find out the total time taken for booting Windows OS. Download the utility and run the executable file. After installation this utility will ask permission to reboot so that it can calculate booting time.
After the booting of windows in completed,it will show you the time taken during this whole process. So you can either compare your booting time after installing a new software or can use it for detecting even a very small change in booting time by any trick or utility.
Note:This utility does not consider the time taken to go through BIOS or BIOS bootup password. It takes the time from the instant BIOS starts loading Windows.

Yes,we have moved. Now we have a domain name
jaystech.com but we are still a blogger hosted blog.As many of you might be aware that blogger provide the facility to use custom domain which can be purchased from Google itself (or from anywhere else on internet ) by the use of Google apps and
Godaddy collaboration.

Blogger will continue to redirect our old domain
techinnews.blogspot.com to our new domain
jaysTech.com.So users can access blog content from both the address but still we recommend to use
jaysTech.com.Some of the readers asked about the change in name, why i didn't go for techbuzz.com or techinnews.com since we have used both names for more than 1 and half years.I would like to tell all of them that first of all i tried to go for these names only but both of them were registered on almost each domain.
After this i tried many, many(and many) names but almost each of them were registered or parked.Manoj from
liveindya sugested this name jaysTech.com and i aggreed on this. Some time later in this year we are planning to move on wordpress hosted site but presently i have decided to stay on blogger. This delay will provide time to users to catch up with this new name jaysTech.com and because of this we are not going to loose any subscriber or reader since they are also redirected to our new address.
As i told you that i have purchased jaysTech.com from Google ,so Google has provided me some nice facilities like email service at our own domain name like id@jaysTech.com which can be accessed from
mail.jaysTech.com.This emails are on Gmail server means we will get full access to gmail facilities and security with somewhat 6-7 Gb free space that Gmail is presently offering.

Now i have decided to provide this facility to our users also.Readers who want email addesses at their own name like name@jaystech.com which they were unable to recieve on any other email service just because somebody has already created that with their names on that service provider or whatever ,can mail me at my new address jay@jaysTech.com to receive their own name Gmail ids on Jaystech.com.I will provide these id to first 50 readers since i have limited ids.

Online video sharing is one of the major attributes of the web 2.0 and most of the
video sharing sites based on user generated content are doing fine. Some of them like
youtube are going great. But now the competition is getting tougher and more tougher.Small players are feeling the heat are they are restructuring themselves.
And the latest news is that
Veoh, has blocked many (all but 33 ) countries across the globe which were less important to it in financial and marketing terms but they were consuming the precious bandwidth.
Veoh’s Gaude Paez told press, “The markets we are exiting collectively represent less than 10 percent of our viewer base.” She maintained that the decision was “not about saving resources but rather re-focusing those resources.” Paez was not able to immediately provide the list of countries where Veoh is still available.
She further said "Competition is high in the video space and we want to make sure we’re differentiating ourselves in terms of products and ad platforms to monetize. As a startup we just have to make choices."
You can see the list of blocked countries here at wikipedia.

Previously i wrote about
how to hack orkut accounts this time i am with a guide on how to save your orkut account from getting hacked. For this lets go through the login security system used by Google for its application like orkut.
Google uses a 4 Level Orkut login which makes it difficult to hack using brute force method.
1st Level Security-SSL or 128 bit secured connection
2nd Level Google account checks for cookie in the sytem of user
3rd Level Google provides a redirection to the entered User information
4th Level Google doesn't use conventional php/aspx/asp coding so impossible to attack using input validation attack!!

It is not an easy task to break this security! But still some people manages to get access to other accounts. The question concerned is How they do it? Many of them just use simple tricks that be fool users and then they them self leak out their password. Here are some points you need to take care of, to prevent your Orkut account being hacked!
Phishing Attack is the most popular way of stealing other's password. Popular by the name of fake login (among those who knows it!!) the users land on a page where they are asked for their login information and they enter their username and password thinking it to be a real page but actually it is other way round. It submits all the details entered to the programmer or the coder.
Community Links: Many times you are provided with a link to a community in a scrap. Read the link carefully, It may be something like http://www.okrut.com/Community.aspx?cmm= 22910233 OKRUT not ORKUT. Clicking on this link will take you to a fake login page and there you loose up your password.
Orkut New Features: I have come across a page that looks like they are giving the user a choice of selecting new features for orkut with your ID and password, of course!! When user submit the page, there goes his ID and password mailed to the coder.
Java script: You must have seen the circulating scraps that asks you to paste this code in your address bar and see what happens! Well sometimes they also leak out your information. Check the code and if you are unsure of what to do, then I recommend not to use it.
Primary mail address: If by some means a hacker came to know password of your
email address, which users normally keeps as their primary mail address in their Orkut account, then hacker can hack Orkut account by simply using USER ID and clicking on 'forget password'.This way Google will send link to the already hacked primary email id to change the password of the Orkut account. Hence the email hacker will change your Orkut account's password. Hence your Orkut account hacked too.
So a better thing would be to keep a very unknown or useless email id of yours as primary email id so that if the hacker clicks on 'Forgot password' the password changing link goes to an unknown email id i.e. not known to the hacker.
These are the some of the methods which can alarm you about the possibility of account hacking. So its better to play safe.

Recently Google changed their favicon from capital G to small g,those who knows Google was surprised about this because Google haven't changed that for the past six years. They will be more surprised when they will come to know that this change is not permanent.Actually Google has developed a set of favicons that it is intended to use in near future like it uses it's homepage Doodles.

Marissa Mayer explains on the Google Blog:
The reason is that we wanted to develop a set of icons that would scale better to some new platforms like the iPhone and other mobile devices. So the new favicon is one of those, but we’ve also developed a group of logo-based icons that all hang together as a unified set.
Google has evolved as a hot favorite topic for the bloggers that even a change in its favicon becomes a hot issue for the bloggers to write.Bloggers just wait for a sign from the Google and write about it and even if Google doesn't do anything (?) they will also write why Google has not done special for last so many days.
Above are some of the different candidates out of the hundreds that Google tried out. And below are the current five.

I have already discussed
how windows creates the thumbnails of images and videos and how they are stored in Thumbs.db file which is present in the same folder where the images are placed in windows xp. Thumbs.db file acts as the database file for the image thumbnails in windows and if required (means if deleted accidentally ) those
images can be retrieved from thumbs.db file, though their quality will be poor but if you have lost some of precious images then quality can be compromised.Isn't it.
Rather than retrieving images from thumbs.db file if you want to view the images in thumbs.db file then you can also do the same. Each image is represented as a jpg image in the thumbs.db file which makes it relatively easy to extract those images again. The thumbnails are stored in a centralized location in Windows vista with the name thumbcache_xxx.db where xxx is a number between 1 and 999. That folder is located at %sysroot%\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer.
A flexible small tool that can extract all images from thumbs.db files is Thumbs Extract. It’s a command line utility and the command is ThumbsExtract.exe path to thumbs.db, for example ThumbsExtract.exe c:\thumbs.db if the file is located on the c:\ drive.

The default music software on your Windows is probably not enough, when it comes to extensive features and customizability. Here’s a pick of the best music freewares for music junkies that can let them sort through and efficiently play most audio formats on their Windows computer:
Audio players:
VLC Player - It’s more light on resources that you would imagine. VLC is a very versatile player - throw any odd format, and it plays them for you instantly (FLV included).
Winamp - Winamp has its own fans, it’s customizable to a large extent and can come as a great saver. If you listen to music every other day, you need to have Winamp installed. A similar player is Jet Audio.
Songbird - A feature rich application that has great looks, go for it if your Windows computer has got some memory to spare. You can customize it by adding extensions.
Jukebox:
Jukeboxes are music software that come with amazing capabilities. Go for them if you have huge music collections scattered all around - not just in your computer, but also in audio CDs.
Media Monkey - The best piece of software out there that you’ll love using. Tag editor, format converter, CD recording, iPod support, you name it - it’s got all the tools that squeeze the best from your tracks.
J River Media Jukebox - Very pretty, has good features. And might serve as a good jukebox.

MP3 Tagger - The best ID3 tagger out there in the market, that’s free as well.
Foobar:This utility is also very nice and this is also a freeware.
Ripper:
Audio Grabber - Fantastic audio ripping software, with FreeDB tagging support included. Another similar ripper is FreeRip. Another one a few commenters have mentioned is Exact Audio Copy
Editors :

Audacity - Open Source, and is very light weight.
Wavosaur - Comes with no installer, and is a single exe file that does the job. Supports WAV format
Others:

Last.fm - A social networking site for audiophiles out there. Listen, get interesting tracks based on what you’ve played, and add friends! More such music sites here.
Tunatic - A song is playing on your head, but you just can’t get it’s title right? Then download this, install, hum the song through your mic and let Tunatic locate info on the song for you! Quite cool for show off as well
Audio Files GDS Indexer - Google Desktop Plugin - Install this one if you have got Google Desktop installed. Adds a bunch of functionality to the Desktop Spider to make it more friendlier towards Audio files.

A Trojan is reported to be spreading it self by using grand theft auto IV according to various reports, the malware in question is the Trojan-Downloader.Win32.VB.dck.Security firm
Sophos scanned the Gnutella network and found an archive claiming to contain the soundtrack of the game. However, the archive had 113.3kb in size, which should be the first sign of foul play.

Further down the road, the archive didn't include mp3 files. The downloader only gets a an executable named Setup.exe. Sophos has been playing around with the file and discovered the following:
“This was a Visual Basic program with some weakly encrypted strings.[...] It turns out that the sample is actually a worm, not a Trojan, that is fully capable of propagating itself over the Gnutella network by sharing itself. What’s more, it doesn’t actually target Grand Theft Auto at all. In fact, we also turned up samples of W32/Zipwire-A when searching for several other popular games, including Team Fortress 2 and Two Worlds. Again, these samples are the ones that are exactly 113.3kb in size.”
According to portalit It's worth noting that the writers didn't name the malware themselves, but actually programmed it to get the most popular name available at a certain time:
“the worm actually picks names it thinks will be popular downloads, not by using any hardcoded list but by downloading pages from sites that index BitTorrent trackers. This is a novel technique and we can assume the reason Grand Theft Auto IV turned up in that list was because of the prevalence of illegal pirate copies on the torrent networks around the time of its release.”
In other words, don't be amazed if you'll get the same malware at some point in the future, only it won't feature the GTA name, but something in the lines of Britney Spears or Timbaland.

Whenever we have to download a torrent files,we have to use
torrent client like bitcomet , utorrent etc. for downloading them. But now you can download torrent files without using torrent clients.
Bitlet.org provide you an excellent facility to download torrent files without actually using torrent clients. You have to just paste the url of torrent metafile and start downloading it.

If you need to download multiple files, instead of copying and pasting each link, you could use the Bitlet Bookmarklet. To install, in Firefox, just click and drag the bookmarklet to the Bookmark toolbar. If you are on Internet Explorer, Right click on BitLet Bookmarklet and select “Add to Favorites”. Add the bookmarklet to your “Links” folder to make it appear in the toolbar. Now, anytime you are on a page with links to torrent files, simply click on the bookmarklet. This adds a Bitlet.org icon beside each of the download link. Clicking on the icons will start the downloads.
And one thing interesting is that it also has a i am feeling lucky button, which is not so common and i usually see this at google homepage.anywhere else ??

Though I have not dealt with any blog design issue or and advice to blog writers in any of our previous post but this time i decide to write about some common blog/site design issues that blog writers usually make.

Here is the list of 10 common mistakes related to web design that should be avoided by bloggers:
1.The user must know what the site is about in seconds: attention is one the most valuable currencies on the Internet. If a visitor can not figure what your site is about in a couple of seconds, he will probably just go somewhere else. Your site must communicate why I should spend my time there, and FAST.
2. Make the content scannable: this is the Internet, not a book, so forget large blocks of text. Probably I will be visiting your site while I work on other stuff so make sure that I can scan through the entire content. Bullet points, headers, subheaders, lists. Anything that will help the reader filter what he is looking for.
3.Make sure to include contact details: there is nothing worse than a website that has no contact details. This is not bad only for the visitors, but also for yourself. You might lose important feedback along the way.
4.Use a simple navigation structure: sometimes less is more. This rule usually applies to people and choices. Make sure that your website has a single, clear navigation structure. The last thing you want is to confuse the reader regarding where he should go to find the information he is looking for.
5.Make sure your website is cross-browser compatible: not all browsers are created equal, and not all of them interpret CSS and other languages on the same way. Like it or not, you will need to make your website compatible with the most used browsers on the market, else you will lose readers over the long term.
6.Do not underline or color normal text: do not underline normal text unless absolutely necessary. Just as users need to recognize links easily, they should not get the idea that something is clickable when in reality it is not.
7.Do not use animated GIFs: unless you have advertising banners that require animation, avoid animated GIFs. They make a site look unprofessional and detract the attention from the content.
8.Avoid long pages: guess what, if the user needs to scroll down forever in order to read your content he will probably just skip it altogether. If that is the case with your website make it shorter and improve the navigation structure.
9.No spelling or grammatical mistakes: this is not a web design mistake, but it is one of the most important factors affecting the overall quality of a website. Make sure that your links and texts do not contain spelling or grammatical mistakes.
10.About page:This page must be included in your blog so that a reader can be more predictable while interacting with you. This give a general about the blog writer and most of the user find it usefull.

Torrents (
List of popular torrents) have become very popular way on internet to share files specially large sized files. On torrents we have seeders and leechers which performs seeding and leeching respectively. Excessive leeching by peers is one of the biggest problems when using BitTorrent. One more thing to look out for is selfish and cheating BitTorrent clients like BitComet which limits uploads severely, and BitThief, which does not upload anything. Both of these problems can be solved by blocking offensive peers.
Note that this blocking is effective for the IP address, which means that blocking a peer in one torrent will block it out from everything else. IP address blocking should not be misused because it can hurt the torrent health, and ultimately lead to slower or dead torrents if used improperly.
Follow these instructions to block IP addresses of peers in utorrent:
1.Go to Options > Preferences (or hit Ctrl+P), go to Advanced tab and scroll down to ipfilter. enable, click on it and set it to true. Click OK to exit preferences window.
2.Find and click once the torrent, and click the Peers tab. Right-click anywhere inside the Peers tab and uncheck “Resolve IPs”. So, all peers will be listed by their IP address alone, which is what we need.
3.Open a Notepad window and manually type in any IP address that you wish to block.
4.Save the Notepad window (with the IP addresses) as “ipfilter.dat” (including the quotes). The location for saving the file should be C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\uTorrent, where USERNAME is the user name of your system account. If you have installed Windows in a different drive, change C:\ accordingly.
5.Go back to uTorrent, click the any torrent, go to the Peers tab, right-click and click “Reload IP filter”.
If you need to block more IP addresses later, open ipfilter.dat, add the IP addresses, save the file, then go to uTorrent, click any torrent, go to its Peers tab, right click and click “Reload IP filter”.
If you do not want the hassle of going through all these steps, you could use an alternative client that provides easy IP blocking, but that means you would not be able to use uTorrent.

Even a novice at internet knows that
Google Rocks on internet.Google services are so much popular across the globe that they challenge the established masters of any field from the day of their launch. We have seen this in the case of Gmail,Orkut, adsense, analytics, docs, pages, site and many more services.Either they were so efficient that they lead the set players of the filed or they were quite innovative to create a new field for themselves and they rule that field. This is what we know about Google and listen about Google.
But do you know that there were some services of Google that were not so popular among internet users and some of them even can't make it up to the mark. Some of them are closed now and some of them are waiting for it or either they need a complete makeover to make a mark.
1.Google answers:
Google Answers was a knowledge market offered by Google that allowed users to post bounties for well researched answers to their queries. It was launched in April 2002, and moved out of Beta in May 2003. In late November 2006, Google reported that it planned to permanently shut down the service, and it was fully closed to new activity by late December 2006, although its archives remain available.
2.Google web accelerator:

Google Web Accelerator is a web accelerator produced by Google. It uses client software installed on the user's computer, as well as data caching on Google's servers, to speed up page load times by means of data compression, prefetching of content, and sharing cached data between users. The beta, released on May 4, 2005.
3.Google Moon:

Google Moon is a service similar to Google Maps that shows satellite images of the Moon. It was launched by Google on July 20, 2005, the 36th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing. The landing site of each of the Apollo missions is shown on the satellite image, providing more information on each mission as the user zooms in
4.Google Co-op:

Google Co-op is a platform provided by Google that allows web developers to feature specialized information in web searches, refine and categorise queries and create customized search engines, based on Google Web Search. Google launched the service on May 10, 2006.
5.Google Gears:

Google Gears is beta software offered by Google to enable offline access to services that normally only are available online. It installs a database engine, based on SQLite, on the client system to cache the data locally. Google Gears-enabled pages use data from this local cache rather than from the online service. Using Google Gears, a web application may periodically synchronize the data in the local cache with the online service.
This is nice but the problem is that if a network connection is not available, the synchronization is deferred until a network connection is established.
6.Google pack:

Google Pack is a free ‘essential software‘ package from Google. Provides wide selection of tools ranging from office software and photo management to security applications. Package available in over 20 languages and comes with auto-update program that handles updates for all programs within the pack. The release puzzled some industry observers, as it appeared to be a collection of unrelated software.
7.Google Deskbar:
Bar on your desktop with a minibrowser built into it. It was discontinued when a very similar feature was added to Google desktop. Some people preferred Google deskbar for its ability to add custom searching and the mini-browser so you wouldn't have to open an actual window. The last release, version 9.95, had a .NET plugin.
8.Google Books Library Project:

Google Books Library Project provides an opportunity to read online or download digitized copies of older or out-of-copyright books — and rare books — from libraries worldwide. Participants in the innovative partnership include the New York Public Library and university libraries. The implications for library research are yet to be understood, but in at the most simplistic level, the project is much like gaining access to information via a local library or interlibrary loan.
9.Google Scholar:

Google Scholar is a freely-accessible Web search engine that indexes the full text of scholarly literature across an array of publishing formats and disciplines. Released in beta in November 2004, the GS index includes most peer-reviewed online journals of the world's largest scientific publishers.
10.Google Video:

Google Video is a free Video sharing website and also a video search engine service from Google that allows anyone to upload video clips to Google's web servers as well as make their own media available free of charge; some videos are also offered for sale through the Google Video Store. For its failure Youtube was a major reason.
Their order has nothing to do with their popularity or failure rate, this is random as ranking them might create a controversy.

There are so many application softwares that after installation add a link to right click menu as an enhanced approach to easily utilize the resources. This is ok for a small number of options but if the list goes on increasing then it might be painful for the user to effectively utilize the right click menu as it took long time to respond.
If you have to effectively utilize it then the first option is to reduce the amount of menu options for doing so.You can't stop the various softwares to add a menu option to right click menu but now you can edit the right click menu and can remove or disable the menu options. This can be obtained by a simple registry hack so before doing so
back up your registry.
Now open the registry editor by going to Start, then Run and then typing in REGEDIT.
Edit right click menu for files:
There is a right-click menu for files and another for folders. To get to the one for files, head over to this registry key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\
You should now see a listing like this:

All the folders listed under ContextMenuHandlers are applications that show up when you right click on a file in Windows. You can either delete the folder to remove the option or simply disable the folder, which is better in case you want to bring it back later on.
You can disable an application by clicking on the folder in the left pane and then right-clicking on the key value in the right pane and choosing “Modify“.

All you need to do is add a minus (-) in front of the key value like shown below:
Click OK, then the refresh button at the top and then try right-clicking on the file! The program should now be gone from the context menu.
Edit right click menu for Folders:
You can follow the same steps as shown above for folders also, it’s just a different registry path. In order to edit the menu options for right clicking on folders, go here:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\
You’ll have to scroll quite a bit, but once you get there, it should look something like this:

Again, you can either delete the folders under ContextMenuHandlers or you can simply disable them by editing the key and putting a - in front of the value. You are done with your right menu option editing.

IF you have to copy some random files in a folder then you start by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on several files, one at a time. But before you highlight all the files you want to copy, the system places copies of these highlighted files back in the same folder where the files came from, giving you doubles of each file. This happens without the Ctrl key being released. Then you have to delete the copies and start over.
This is just a demo of the problem which comes under accidental copy. This phenomenon happens because of any movement, drag in cursor during the selection process and windows understand that you have performed drag and drop operation and copies each and every files selected at that time. But this might be frustrating many times. If it happens with you frequently then you can choose another selection method to avoid this.
Yes, there is another way to select and copy files without risking accidental copies. Click the topmost file you want to copy. Hold down the Ctrl key and down-arrow through the list. You’ll see a faint selection rectangle that moves down as you press the arrow. When it reaches another file you want to copy, press the space bar. (If you select the wrong file, press the space bar again to deselect.) When you’ve made your selections, press C without releasing the Ctrl key to copy the files to the clipboard. Navigate to the destination folder and press Ctrl-V to paste in copies of those files.

Internet has become a very attractive destination even for non geeky persons after the evolution of web 2.0.Most of internet users can be divided among three categories first are those which access internet only for their work, they have definite scope of site over internet and rarely access sites out of their scope, second category is of those people who spend most of the time on internet for their work and remaining time is just consumed by just for fun purpose sites and third group belongs to those who spend very little time of their internet access to work and most part of that time is just for fun over net.
So a major portion of internet users spend lot of time on internet without any usefull work on it.Do you ever thought which internet sites consumes most of their time.We have a analysis over this issue and here is our report. Here are the top 5 internet addiction.
1.
Youtube
In my opinion, YouTube is like some addiction. Once you get addicted to YouTube, it is very difficult for you to look on other websites. As a result, it has become world’s no. 3 website in terms of user traffic. You can find almost every video on YouTube. It is king of piracy. Almost 80% of the videos on YouTube are pirated. Even you can watch complete movies on YouTube on the same day of its release. Its bandwidth costs are estimated at approximately $1 million a day. It has millions of videos featuring latest albums, cricket and other matches, news channel videos, cartoons, scandals etc. A few days before, I read somewhere that people in US are prefer to use YouTube on Television. But there
other video sharing sites which perform the same task but their impact is less.
2.Myspace

Everyday 230,000 new registrations take place on MySpace. It is haven for gossips, photos, blogs and malicious comments. It is banned in almost every schools, businesses, offices and libraries. But people make use of web proxies and fake browsers in order to log in to the site. If you count the number of blogs on MySpace.com then believe me it has more number of blogs as compared to blogs on blogger, wordpress and others taken together. It is also spoiling young generation by allowing them to create obscene profiles. For several hours, people browse through MySpace profiles just to see photos. So MySpace is the biggest time killers on internet. I would like to add Orkut and FaceBook to this list also. But they are more or less just like MySpace, so I am not giving separate description for them.
3.Google earth

Google Earth is a virtual globe program which maps the earth by the superimposition of images obtained from satellite imagery, aerial photography and GIS 3D globe. I remember the day when I found Google Earth first time on internet and I started searching my home in google earth. After this I visited almost every place through Google Earth which I knew at that time. You will feel great pleasure while identifying known places on Google Earth. You will think some magic is going on and you are in heavens. But it consumes a lot of time.
4.Digg

This is some kind of geeky material.Digg is the most popular social bookmarking website. It allows its registered users to share content from anywhere on the Internet, by submitting links and stories, and voting and commenting on submitted links and stories. Voting stories up and down is the site’s cornerstone function, respectively called digging and burying. Thousand of stories get submitted every day, but only the most digged ones appear on the front page of Digg. Almost every blogger has a dream, that is to make his or her article on the front page of Digg. But it is very difficult. Still webmasters and bloggers try their level best to do so. They spend many hours on Digg to analyse the nature of articles which are most digged and commented. There are many Digg type websites on Internet like del.icio.us, reddit, stumbleupon, mixx, yahoo buzz. But noone is as addictive as Digg.
5.Flickr

Flickr is the most popular image and video hosting website. Here users can share their personal photographs. Flickr is used by widely by webmasters and bloggers as a photo repository. This is a big warehouse of photos. Here you will find millions of photos from wide variety of cultures, nations, traditions. People from all over the world have photos uploaded there. Even professional photographers love to share their photos on Flickr. No doubt, it is the most addictive photo website of the world.
This is just a common idea about the most time consuming and addicting sites.People may have different choice. Some of them might go for wallpaper,MP3 downloaing, wikipedia, yahoo answers,Google reader, news sites etc.You can share them with us by writing them in comments.
